ReallyWrite's AI Suggestions
When ReallyWrite identifies an issue in your text, you can click the "AI Help" button to get an AI-generated suggestion.
How does this work?
ReallyWrite uses a customized large language model (LLM) to suggest improvements based on the clear writing principles found in ReallyWrite's learn pages. The LLM will try to resolve the issue you're facing, while keeping the original meaning of the sentence. These suggestions can often help you improve your text.
However, the LLM also makes mistakes, like:
- It may subtly alter the meaning of your text.
- It may make the text more complex than necessary.
- The suggestion may not fit your context, and you will need to manually adjust it.
- The suggestion may still contain the same issues that you are trying to resolve.
Therefore, we recommend that you always review the AI suggestions carefully.
The "apply" button will insert the suggestion into your document while keeping your original version. Then you can compare the two versions side by side and carefully integrate the suggestion into your writing.
Privacy concerns
To generate the AI suggestion, ReallyWrite sends the sentence you're working on to a server that is owned by us. The LLM we're using is run by ourselves on our own machine, so your text doesn't get sent to any third party or big tech company. Your sentence is visible to us in server logs for 7 days after processing, after which it is automatically deleted. The server log file is only used by us to troubleshoot server issues if they occur.
Performance
The LLM typically responds within 2-5 seconds, and it may take longer to respond during peak usage periods. We are currently evaluating how useful the AI suggestions are to you. If you find them useful, we will continue developing it to improve the quality and the processing speed.
